FIELD GUIDE: GHOST BEHAVIOR
Identifying entities in Phasmophobia requires observing hidden behaviors during hunts. Use this reference data to confirm the ghost type without evidence.
1. HUNT SPEED
The standard ghost speed is roughly 1.7 m/s. Significant deviations indicate specific entities:
- Revenant: Extremely slow when hiding, but moves at 3.0 m/s if it detects a player.
- Hantu: Speed depends on room temperature. Move to warm areas to slow it down.
- Deogen: Rushes toward you at high speed but slows to a crawl (0.4 m/s) when close.
2. VISUAL DISTORTION
During a hunt, ghosts flicker in and out of visibility. Analyzing the "Blink Rate" is crucial:
- The Phantom: Is invisible for longer periods between blinks (0.7s - 1.0s invisible).
- The Oni: Is visible for longer periods, making it easier to loop but dangerous to photograph.
3. SMUDGE TIMERS
Using a smudge stick on a ghost usually prevents hunts for 90 seconds. Exceptions:
- Spirit: Cannot hunt for 180 seconds after being smudged.
- Demon: Can hunt again after only 60 seconds.
